The hydrogen peroxide will kill the mold, then you need to wipe with a cloth to remove the stains. Leave it on for a few minutes, rinse and dry thoroughly. One way to keep your home toothbrushes free of bacteria, fungi and other germs is to clean it with a solution of hydrogen peroxide.

Science says yes: The American Dental Association says that toothbrushes can be exposed to fecal coliforms and other bacteria in the bathroom. Small amounts of these bacteria generally do not cause health problems. However, to disinfect your toothbrush you can immerse it in hydrogen peroxide as mentioned above. dip your toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide. Cleaning the shower curtain: With this trick it is not necessary to replace the old curtain. Pour a little hydrogen peroxide and water on the yellow and dirty parts and the dirt will come off easily.

IN THE KITCHEN
Cleaning the dishwasher: To eliminate mold and mildew in the dishwasher, spray the inside of the dishwasher, where moisture can remain for longer after the completion of a washing cycle - including the side sealing rubbers. and cracks in the crockery holder.
A study on residential dishwashers found that 83% of them have fungi and 47% yeasts of the E. dermatitidis species, which can be harmful to humans. The latter was detected mainly in the part of the rubber seals. If you want to give your machine a SPA day, use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and essential oils.

Improve the performance of the dishwasher: Add 60ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your regular formula and check how the dishes will be whiter and cleaner.

Disinfecting the cutting board: According to the Ohio State University Extension, cleaning cutting boards with undiluted hydrogen peroxide in contact with the surface for ten minutes at room temperature is effective in killing E. coli and Salmonella bacteria on hard surfaces such as planks and cutters.

Disinfect the sink: Many home cleaning tips blogs recommend this trick to clean the kitchen sink: moisten the surface of the sink and scrub it with baking soda sprinkled on a sponge. When rubbing the entire surface, pour 3% hydrogen peroxide over the surface and let it act for ten minutes before rinsing.

Cleaning the dishwashing sponge: The sponge used for dishwashing is one of the household objects that most accumulate microbes and bacteria. It is difficult to keep it sanitized due to factors such as its frequent use and the type of material used in its manufacture. “Washing” the sponge with hydrogen peroxide is a good option. To do this, mix a part of hydrogen peroxide and a part of warm water in a container. Then soak the sponge for about 15 minutes.

Washing vegetables - and increasing their useful life: A simple wash with water does not actually wash vegetables. Gardeners recommend using 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide (3% volume) to help remove bacteria from vegetables. When washing delicate vegetables, such as lettuce, soak for 20 minutes and then rinse. Carrots, potatoes and other vegetables can stay 30 minutes before rinsing and drying. Because bacteria can cause vegetables and fruits to turn brown, hydrogen peroxide is believed to keep them fresh in the refrigerator for longer. Bleaching old porcelain: Use a vegetable loofah dipped in 3% oxygenated water and baking soda to rub yellowish porcelain objects. Amazing result!

5 Usos da Água Oxigenada

HEALTH
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies hydrogen peroxide safe for humans in low doses. But the organization warns that the application of hydrogen peroxide to the skin can cause irritation, burning and blistering.
In contact with the eyes, it can burn the cornea. Breathing in hydrogen peroxide in higher concentrations can also cause irritation in the airways, tightness in the chest, hoarseness or shortness of breath. And swallowing hydrogen peroxide, especially in higher concentrations, can cause vomiting, inflammation or organ damage.

Why does hydrogen peroxide bubble?

The hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), has an oxygen atom more than the water. Due to this additional oxygen atom, the substance becomes very unstable and if exposed to air, that atom is easily released.

For this reason, bottles containing hydrogen peroxide must be kept tightly closed. On the other hand, the chemical reaction of hydrogen peroxide with the blood and plasma exposed in a wound, is due to the release of the excess oxygen atom. And it is this reaction of liberation of the atom that causes the liquid to bubble - only ordinary water is left. Hydrogen peroxide is used for asepsis (cleaning) of wounds because, in the process, it eliminates 60% of the bacteria that could cause inflammation in the area.
