The Mooncup is made of soft medicinal silicone, it's so comfortable you can't feel it's there. While tampons absorb 35% of vaginal moisture, Mooncup will not dry you out or leave a trace of fiber.
Your Mooncup is always ready and available. No last minute rush to the stores or stocking up on internal or external absorbents of different absorptions. Mooncup frees you from having to throw away used items or carry bulky spares (either when you go to the bathroom or take up space in your backpack on your travels).
Supporting 3 times more than a common tampon, Mooncup offers you longer-lasting protection on days of more intense flow. And since it's not absorbent, it won't cause dryness when your period is light.
You only need a Mooncup that pays for itself after 6 to 8 months – you will then be saving that monthly expense on intimate hygiene protection.
Latex-free, hypoallergenic, and containing no dyes, perfumes, BPA, phthalates, plastic, bleach or toxins.
More than just a product
Once you've purchased your Mooncup, we'll be here if you need support. We offer an exclusive Email and Telephone Guidance Service run by nurses. You can rest assured that Mooncup® is manufactured in the UK to the highest quality standards. Mooncup Ltd is ISO 13485 certified and FDA registered.
Choose the right size for you following the simple guidelines below:
While many get the knack of using the Mooncup straight away, it can take up to 3 cycles.
Remember, your reusable menstrual cup should last for years and years. Once you’ve got it, you won’t look back.
As you would when using tampons, always wash your hands
before inserting and removing your Mooncup®.

Part the labia and place the cup as low down in the vagina as it will comfortably sit (lower down than a tampon). There must be a gap between the rim of the Mooncup and the cervix.
For more information, see our FAQ on Insertion and our Positioning FAQ
The base of the cup should sit as low as possible in the vagina. As vaginal length varies, the first time you use your Mooncup you may need to trim the stem to get the best fit for you.
Please read our FAQ on trimming the stem before first use.
With clean hands, gently squeeze the bottom of the cup to release the seal then slide the cup out.
Empty the contents into the toilet.
We recommend emptying it every 4-8 hours.
Rinse your Mooncup with water or wipe it with a tissue.
Fold and re-insert.
