Isopropyl Alcohol

Isopropyl Alcohol

There are no products to list in this category.

In this category, you will find products that have alcohol isopropyl as one of their raw materials.

Isopropyl alcohol is great for cleaning electronic equipment, such as matherboards, mobile phones, computers, appliances, office surfaces and glass, as it evaporates quickly.

Isopropyl alcohol is clear and colorless, liquid, soluble in water, volatile and flammable. Moderately toxic if ingested or absorbed through the skin.

It has a purity level of 99%, it can be prepared with a dilution of 70° for disinfection and cleaning of appliances and surfaces.

Indication for use:

  • Cleaning of parts that have already been used and that have been idle for some time.
  • Electronic components.
  • Eliminates static electricity from the stationary component. Ex: Video card, network card, sound card, memory, HD logic card.
  • You must clean the dust before applying the isopropyl alcohol.
  • If you are going to clean the matherboard, the battery must be removed, before using Isopropyl Alcohol, to avoid a short circuit, as alcohol is a liquid.

USE IN INDUSTRY
Used to remove hydraulic fluid, engine oil and bearing grease are just a few of the applications.
In commercial applications, it serves as a household appliance cleaner. Removal of glue residue from price labels and tags. Stains on mobile phones and other electronics can be easily removed.

O Isopropyl alcohol, isopropanol or propane-2-ol, with the formula C3H8O. It has a three-carbon chain and a hydroxyl group attached to the secondary carbon.

Contains less than 1% water.

The longer chain is less hydrophilic, facilitating its separation from the water, making it, therefore, very useful for cleaning electronic equipment, to remove grease without compromising its operation. Suitable for computers by many experts.

In appearance it does not differ from most relatively short-chain alcohols, being a colorless liquid with a characteristic alcohol odor and highly flammable.

Storage and handling precautions are the same for ethanol and methanol.

It is a very good solvent for organic compounds, including organochlorines, it is widely used in the paint, varnish and remover industries.

A very important characteristic of this alcohol is the possibility of removing it from an aqueous solution through a technique called salting out, which is not possible with ethanol and methanol. Because it has a higher carbonated chain than the other two alcohols, it has a lower affinity for polar compounds. Adding any inorganic salt, such as sodium chloride, for example, increases the polarity of the aqueous part, causing the isopropanol to leave this phase and can be separated by a decanting funnel.

Isopropanol can also be used as a reagent for the synthesis of other compounds such as acetone. By the oxidation of alcohol using a strong oxidizing agent such as chromic acid, or by its dehydrogenation catalyzed by copper and with heating. It can also be reverted to propene by heating with sulfuric acid.
