Mint Oil Properties and Benefits

Mint extract has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic (pain relief), antipruritic, antiseptic, astringent, stimulating peripheral circulation, refreshing and rubefacient action.

It is able to treat indigestion, respiratory problems, headaches, nausea, fever, stomach and bowel spasms.

The menthol oil in mint is widely used in the production of toothpaste, soap, soaps, shampoo, cigarettes, cycles, tea and ice cream.

The numerous health benefits of peppermint oil have already been studied and proven by the scientific community (unlike many other herbs and essential oils).

You can use mint oil to flavor foods and drinks, almost everyone likes the mint flavor.

Some of the minerals and nutrients present in peppermint oil are: manganese, iron, magnesium, calcium, folic acid, potassium, copper, fatty acids, vitamin A and vitamin C.

 

 

Recipe for making mint oil

Ingredients:

  • Fresh mint leaves;
  • Glass bottle with lid;
  • Extra virgin olive oil (to serve as a carrier to infuse the oil).

Procedure:

  • After washing and cutting the mint leaves, crush them to release the natural oil.
  • In the glass jar and pour the oil over the mint leaves.
  • The oil should cover the leaves completely. Close the bottle tightly and wait 24 hours. Do not open during this time.
  • After 24 hours, strain the oil and add more chopped mint leaves and olive oil. Close again.
  • Repeat this procedure for five days.
  • Finally, strain it well and pour the finished oil into another container.
